Dr. Karla Mayorga is a compassionate and genuine psychologist that devotes her life helping others achieve their dreams. She is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Dr. Mayorga obtained her Doctorate Degree in Psychology from California Southern University. She also possesses a Post-Master’s Certificate in LGBT Affirmative Psychotherapy. She received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from National University. Her research focuses on the needs of minorities within the health care system.
She has extensive knowledge and experience working with diverse populations. She focuses on helping adults achieve balance in their lives. She specializes in providing treatment to adult cancer patients/survivors to help them cope in a healthy manner by combining the medical and culture models respectively. Dr. Mayorga provides an array of services from individual to group to family therapy as well as assessing/writing emotional support animal letters.
Additionally, she has expertise in relationships, stress management, career counseling, immigration, and LGBTQI issues. Dr. Mayorga conducts psychological evaluations (VAWA, forensic, immigration, etc). She is available for speaking engagement. She is working on creating culturally tailored treatments to improve the quality of life and chances of survival of minorities. Dr. Mayorga is also a published author; The Unique Needs Of Latinas: Before and after a cancer diagnosis.
Services are provided in English and Spanish. Sessions are available in person, telephone, and online. She is always in the path of becoming a better person and professional for the benefit of her patients. Her thriving private practice now serves the Los Angeles Metropolitan area and adjacent vicinities.
